Self Description
            Received my primary and secondary education from Convent Green Lane, Penang under strict ordinance and guidance from Irish nuns. I have retired and all my years of experience is in Secretarial, Administration and Operations. For fourteen years while my kids were growing up I stopped work in the corporate world as a Secretary and provided English tuition to Chinese primary students. The mode I adopted was primarily to induce firstly to be vocally and conversational English, adapted into their daily study lifestyle. Being aware that Chinese school students are exceptionally poor in the English Language, I have advocated a breakthrough through this style of teaching. Using the tri-language dictionary (English/Mandarin/BM and vice versa) to understand the languages is also a blessing to this particular group of students as it is self help and children will automatically pick up new words and spellings daily. It indeed heart warming and the feel of self satisfaction to see the students growing in leaps and bounds as they learn to read and write in confidence perhaps after six months for below average students. For above average students, I will introduce story books and grammar drilling homework to instill proper grammatical usage and fluency. Off course, to receiving such goods results also it is the parents role to assist the teachers to oversee their child at home in areas like homework and revision is done in a disciplinary manner. The rest is left to be seen as an individual child and customarily delivered.
