"Regurgitation is not education"
Self Description
Forcing children to memorize and regurgitate with the ultimate goal of doing well in examinations is the fallacy of many teachers in today's education system. Children should be well-balanced, and originality of thought and each student's individuality must be nurtured always. I believe that students should not only learn the required syllabus with an exam-oriented mentality, but rather embrace knowledge for knowledge's sake and the betterment of oneself. I find students learn best when they are able to connect what is taught in school with things they can relate to in everyday life. I believe in the use of memory aids, ie. storytelling, mnemonics, etc. Hence, I usually expect a high level of student participation during the lesson. I aspire to always be open and easygoing yet firm in teaching. I adapt well to each individual student, but my lessons are generally thought-provoking and dynamic. I place emphasis equally on left- and right-brain learning.
Proven Track Record

Achievement
I achieved excellent results in the New South Wales Australian Schools Competitions in English, Mathematics, and Science in 1996-1998. My entry in the Commonwealth Essay-writing Competition 2000 was given the Highly Commendable Award. I qualified to join the Malaysian Mensa society in 2001 (scoring within the top 2% of any approved standardized intelligence test). I completed A-levels in Cambridge Tutors College, London, in 2005. I am proficient in the use of LexisNexis for legal researching. I attended Legal Skills and Legal Practice courses, as well as participated in several advocacy-skills and mooting workshops at HELP University College, Kuala Lumpur.
