Self Description I am an English Lecturer with London English Academy, operated by Jetter Holdings Sdn Bhd (under the support of UCSI International Group in Malaysia). Commonly, i assume the responsibilities of any English lecturer or teacher - - teaching and imparting knowledge of the language. I have been assigned EAP (English for Academic Purposes), EEP (English Enrichment Programme), and Business English classes to teach. Every month, I expect new badges of EEP students who are international students from different nations, namely Nigeria, Iran, Iraq, China, Indonesia, Korea, Yemen and etc. EAP classes are especially for Malaysian students pursuing their tertiary level education in UCSI while Business English students are working adults required to improve their English proficiency. My teaching approach is individualized and tailored to meet the special needs and lacks of each student as i believe every student is a unique individual with different learning preferences and styles. I use both the humanistic and cognitive approaches in my teaching methodologies - humanistic approach is essential as students need to feel comfortable, none threatened and in cognitive wise, to be able to comprehend fully the lesson learned, not by merely understanding or memorizing formulas. I do not believe in drills and teaching approaches that are mainly exam-oriented as students are not mechanically driven robots to only score As for exams.They may excel in scores but the sad fact is, they never did improve their language proficiency. I am certain that my teaching approach is able to change both the attitude and language proficiency of the student. I have dealt with students from different nation, age group and SE background with different learning preferences and styles. Therefore, I would be able to easily handle students, even those with difficult attitude problems. In addition, teaching is my passion and for me, the greatest reward in teaching isn't the pay but the love and respect you earn from your students.
